CHA Somerville Campus is a major medical facility north of Boston. Located on Highland Avenue in Somerville, MA, we are minutes from Davis Square, Tufts University and Harvard Square.

Services include Urgent Care, Primary Care, and OB/GYN, specialty care centers like the GI Center and Eye Center, and key inpatient psychiatry services for children and adolescents.

  • Parking, Public Transportation, Shuttle Service


    There are two CHA parking lots: on Highland Ave and on Crown Street (behind the hospital).

    For CHA Dermatology, Somerville Pediatrics and the Eye Center, please park in the Highland lot.

    For Urgent Care, OB/GYN, Surgery or Medical Specialties, please park in the Crown Street lot and use the Main Entrance on Tower Street.

    The cost is $3 - $8, depending on your length of stay. Both parking lots are cash-only. There is an ATM inside the main lobby of the hospital. Click here for current parking rates at Cambridge and Somerville Campus.

    Public Transportation:

    Bus: 88, 90

    Red Line, Davis Square or Porter Square, then take the bus.
    Green Line, Magoun Square (.3 mile walk)

    There is a bus shelter outside the Highland Building. Will have a short walk up the hill to the Tower Street Main Entrance.

    Shuttle Service:

    CHA offers a shuttle between Cambridge Hospital, the Somerville Campus and other CHA locations.

    Who can come with you or visit you in the hospital?

    Patients coming for a clinic visit, to Urgent care or to the Emergency Department are allowed to bring at least one person with them. Additional people will be at the discretion of the provider and clinic.

    We can help you make, change or cancel your appointment.

  • Get help when I feel sick?

    Same day virtual visits when you feel sick.

    You can schedule a same-day or next-day Virtual Sick Visit through MyChart for certain symptoms. Just log into MyChart and click the Visits button. This will let you schedule a video appointment for things like cough, headache, COVID-19, back pain, vaginal itch or discharge, painful urination, and more. If you have a symptom not included on the self-booking list, please call your primary care office. You’ll be connected to our Nurse Advice Center who can help you get the care you need.

    At the time of your video appointment, you’ll get a link by text and email. Just click on the link and log in using the camera on your phone or computer. Depending on your needs, we can provide medical advice, prescribe medicines, and set up a follow-up visit. Get the medical care you need from CHA without having to leave your home!

    If you are having a health emergency:

    Call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.

    You can find 24 hour care with short wait times at CHA Cambridge Hospital and CHA Everett Hospital. When you go to a CHA emergency room, your CHA doctor will be notified about your health needs and can help coordinate your care.

    For the best service, just call your pharmacy to get your prescription refilled.

    Please don’t wait until your medication is gone before calling. However, if you do run out, please tell the pharmacist. They may be able to give you some medication until your refill has been approved.
